Moree Show Anniversary Dinner Success!

elmer_and_marg

The Moree community took a nostalgic trip down memory lane recently at the 125th Moree Show Anniversary Dinner.

The night was a resounding success, with over 160 people glamming up for the Black Tie event, held at The Max Chandelier Ballroom.

Highlights of the evening included a specially scribed poem about the Moree Show by Master of Ceremonies Murray Hartin, plenty of dancing to live duo Green Limousine and a special Moree Show memorabilia display.

The display included a large range of rare show ribbons dating back to 1908, many old photos, showbooks, 1909 leather bound ledger books and hundreds of old newspaper clippings from over the years.

A number of dedicated Show Committee people were presented with Life Membership Awards, including Andrew Pitman, Nell Jones, Bernie Keitlinghaus, Ros O'Neill and John Appleby and Nell Jones and Elmer Knobel were also presented 50 Year Service Awards.

The special, one off dinner, was a celebration of the Moree Show's rich history and a chance for old friends, committee people and many former Moree residents to reunite.
