ENTRY FEE: $4/dog DAY /TIME: Sunday, after the pet show Entries accepted at pet show and just prior to event. WHERE: main ring
HOW THE RACE WILL WORK: For this event you require your raciest pet dog and a friend. One person (person A) will hold the dog at one end of a race track while the other person (person B) backs away from the dog until they are standing on the finish line. Person B can call the dog as they walk away and can even have doggy treats, all in the name of enticing the dog, once the starter horn blows, to quickly race towards person B. The first dog across the finish line wins. Heats may be held, depending on the number of entrants.
This event will be split into two categories, small dogs and large dogs. Smaller dogs (Terriors, Poodles, Lap Dogs etc) will only race 50 metres.
Larger dogs and working dogs will race 100 metres.
PRIZES: Ribbon for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Product and cash for top three place getters. Product for wooden spooner (dog that crosses the finish line last)
All animals must be restrained and under TOTAL control by their handlers AT ALL TIMES to prevent accident or injury. All purebreds and crossbreds may compete for prizes. IF YOUR DOG HAS A TENDENCY TO BITE STRANGE DOGS, THEN PLEASE DO NOT ENTER IT INTO THIS EVENT. WE WANT NO INJURY OR DOG ARGUMENTS!
